Background and Purpose

Cutting the Wedding Cake as one

Like all of Marriage, How symbolic is the act of cutting the cake together. Showing that everything we do going forward will done by two working as one in purpose.

This blog is presented because if there is to be any real hope for the future of marriage and families in America we need to help people with real solutions – not the self-centered, feel-good, me-first, feminist propaganda and pop psychology which I believe to be responsible for much of the damage. Given the opportunity, I want to be part of the solution not part of the problem.

While I have no professional qualifications as a counselor or therapist of any kind, I do have a great deal of experience in this area as I am still happily married to my wife of over 24 years.

We chose each other quite young and in spite of challenges and hardships far beyond anyone’s expectations our marriage blossomed and flourished as we grew together through both joy and adversity, while raising 4 children.

I do not wish to intimate that we did not make mistakes along the way, only that we learned a great deal from each decision, whether right or wrong, and hope to pass on the knowledge that others might benefit from it.

I welcome any questions, comments, requests, or observations. Please email me at

    Hi, liked your blog.
I don’t know if you would be interested to check this bit of bizarre info about the Pope and Catholic Church recognizing and honoring quack faith healer ‘john of god’ to Knighthood in the Order of St Gregory. I’m looking to find if this is really true. Any comments or help in my further inquiry would be appreciated.

      It is a fake.

As to the order of St. Gregory – aside from it not being in his real name, neither the name on the certificate nor Kyrian appears in the list of honorees on the Vatican’s website here:

Since the order of St. Sylvester is the next lower order and the man is preaching heresy (spiritualism and channeling – and other occult new age practices against the faith), and he obviously fabricated the first one.

While the list for the order of St. Sylvester is under construction – his credibility is shot from the first fabrication. He would have been elevated to the higher order anyway – the first certificate on the website does not even list his christian name.

Photoshop is an amazing tool, but the vatican website has a very up to date lists and they are not terribly long.

Best wishes to you and I hope your search for truth continues –

Thanks for your reply and work finding that site. I really do believe it’s a fake, because I’ve been following the activities of these ‘quacks’, but one of the differences between ‘us and them’ is we use truth. I need proof before exposing these guys. It seems strange that the listing of knights, etc only goes to around 2000. No later? Perhaps I am searching wrong? But I did notice a address that I might be able to email for an absolute answer. Much thanks,

I think it would be wonderful to make sure the Vatican is aware so that the local bishop can expose the fraud to the people. It is beyond imagining that the church even could honor such a person – but people who want to believe need no convincing. They have misplaced faith.

        Best Wishes,

    Thanks Colin,
But I have a feeling this isn’t going to be easy. The supposed names on the certificate are Cardinals Bertone and Sodano, both have their share of personal problems with the church, now, Curious and curiouser!

According to Wikipedia, the honor is bestowed directly by the pope. It should have the popes signature in the certificate. I was unable to find anyone else crassly advertising their membership online and displaying their certificate looking for attention. Also it’s not something many ever receive. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if hey haven’t bestowed any since 2000.

Just as a follow-up, I emailed this to Vatican.
Thanks for your words an help

    Archbishop Gerhard Ludwig Müller.
Prefect for The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and Pontifical Commission “Ecclesia Dei”

    Your Excellency ;

I am writing to you to report what I believe may be a matter of concern to the Catholic Church. I would have liked to email directly to Cardinals Bertone and Sodano, but I could not find their email address. Please pardon my intrusion. Hopefully you may direct the following to the proper authority.

Please allow me to bring to your attention the following bizarre claims concerning quack faith healer ‘john of god’ and his follower Kiran Schmidt and Dr Burzynski and the Catholic Church. There are extraordinary claims that these gentlemen have been honored with knighthood to the Order of St Gregory the Great. They are now crassly advertising their membership online and displaying their ‘signed’ certificates looking for attention and promoting their new age businesses and spiritist beliefs.

    More complete info attached:

Kiran Schmidt is also claiming associations with Joseph W. Tobin , Archbishop of Indianapolis , Cardinals Bertone and Sodano. He is claiming that he and others ( of his employ) have been honored with titles in the Order of St Sylvester, Knighthood in the Order of St Gregory, Baron and Marquis to the Order of Pian and more with photos of Papal ‘documents’ signed by Cardinals Bertone and Sodano.. And he is further claiming recognition and affirmation by the Catholic Church through the listed representatives of his spiritist beliefs.
Kiran Schmidt also claims that controversial ‘Dr Stanislaw Burzynski’ and his efforts have been recognized and honored by the Catholic Church. And most questionable of all, Mr Schmidt claims that the man know as ‘john of god’ of Abadiania, Brazil has been honored by the Church. His statement from website.@..….

“This week I had the privilege to hand over a degree signed by Cardinal Bertone, the secretary of Vatican-State that honours John of God as a knight-commander of the Order of St Gregory the Great…. A wonderful signal of the Catholic Church to honour a man who certainly has facilitated more miracle healing than all Saints together”

Did the Pope really give recognition to these charlatans? I suspect not. But I would like to report their activities to the proper authorities and ascertain if these claims are valid. Any assistance or direction you may supply would be greatly appreciated.
